Starburst the Mirror not the Candy

Although I have quite the sweet tooth and Starburst the candy sounds incredibly yummy right now, let's discuss the oh so sweet sensation we get from seeing a gorgeous Starburst aka Sunburst mirror.  These mirrors have been all the craze on the internet lately regardless of the fact that they have been around since my parents were in diapers. Personally, I'm all for a throw back to the old'en days. I'm even more intrigued by the fact that you can make these for nearly chump change.  See I'm a cheap skate when it comes to decor and there is no way I could convince my husband to "allow" me to spend a car payment on a mirror but if it's in your budget then by all means. Check out these gorgeous babies that I feel are worth every single penny, big or small.

If you are looking for something that literally says "astrology" why not go with something like this. Don't you just adore how it pops with all the other muted colors in the bathroom? I feel like it is just asking for someone to look into it.
Bringing the outside in is probably one of my favorite things about design in general. The driftwood paired with the daisies and a candle...can we say Grandma's House comfy. Maybe I'm just overly dramatic but in my eyes I see a window open, a book in my hand and birds chirping. Now that's the life!!
Who say's you can only have one of these on display at a time? Look at the dramatic affect the different sizes together create. Yes, please!!!
And then there is this, 32 mirrors all combined into 1 conversation piece.  I can oogle over this all day.
Last, most cost effective and my very favorite is this unique piece. A friend of mine sent me this in a message today telling me that  it would look fantastic over my dining set that I am redoing in my kitchen nook.  I agreed and will now take a que from Flamingo Toes to make one very similar. Run on over to their site and check out the tutorial. It's so easy it should be a crime.

What are your favorite throw back must-have designs?  Get in touch with your inner hippie!! Peace Dude.

Proper Introduction

When meeting people for the first time, you typically don't skip the "Hi, my name is" part. I find it only fair that I do the same for a blog that will allow strangers and family just alike to follow the details of my humble abode. With that said, allow me to do the honors. My birth given name, just kidding, that's a little much. I am Dana. My reasons behind starting this blog are pretty simple. My husband (who we will call B) and I rented our first HOUSE, not apartment, not condo but house! This house has so much character and all though we are unable to paint the walls (total annoyance...by the way) we still want this to be a cozy home. I think people stick to the cookie cutter they are used to in rent homes because they aren't aware that things can be done to make it their own even on the smallest budget. My goal, convince all that it is possible. My other reasons are purely out of passion. I have a real love for all things decorative and artsy. So, now when the little is sleeping and it's mommy time I can retreat to making my crafts or internet geeking it up. So...there ya have it. Nice to meet you! Please feel free to return the favor and tell me about you. To start us off...why not show you a pic of my little Clique from years past. Ahhh, memory lane.

Coming up...a little crafty craft that even the most uncoordinated can tackle.
